OUR TEAM
R. David Jones
Founder & CEO
David has served in the insurance and financial industry for over 24 years. He directly manages millions in client assets and premiums and serves as a risk management consultant for individuals, families, and businesses throughout the Carolinas.. He built his business on a “client first,” customer service approach which has proven successful.
David has always put the needs of others first and been service minded in his personal and business philosophy. He began his career as a National Registered Paramedic and worked in critical care and air/ground transport. He served as a contract Medic in Afghanistan and continues to volunteer as a paramedic with an area EMS. He earned a bachelor of science degree in Health Care Administration and a masters degree in Emergency Medical Science. He remains actively involved in his community, volunteering in local church activities and coordinating support for veterans with PTSD through Wounded Spirits.
Building on his health services background, David built his insurance practice over the past four decades. He chose to be an independent insurance broker so he could work for his clients and put their best interest first. He developed a passion for helping his clients protect and grow their assets.
Although David began his career as an independent life and health insurance broker, his real passion is serving as an Investment Advisor Representative. He specializes in helping those that desire safe stable returns that deliver solid growth but want to see their principal protected with as little risk as possible. This is accomplished through managed funds and Private Wealth Strategies. His investment philosophy has been one of risk management. The cornerstone of his success is the vigilant recognition that Losses Hurt You More Than Gains Help You®.
David’s commitment to the retirement needs of Americans has led to numerous endeavors. He serves on the advisory committees and boards for several insurance organizations. He serves on the Florence, SC Public Safety Citizens Review Board. After seeing the firsthand effects of the burgeoning health care crisis among America’s retirees’, David chose to specialize in all aspects of senior financial and insurance needs over the last two decades.
David has also taught several courses as a guest lecturer and instructor for numerous colleges and universities throughout the Carolinas. David earned the Distinguished Toastmaster designation. Less than 1% of Toastmasters earn that designation. He is a member of the Association of Financial Educators and earned a Certified Financial Education Instructor® designation from the National Financial Educators Council. David also obtained his National Security Advisor Certification with the National Social Security Advisors Organization.
He has been a guest on the “GBN Live Show”, the “Unlock What’s Inside You, Inc.: COMMUNITY FORUM PODCAST”, as well as being interviewed on various TV and news outlets.
David has authored “It’s God’s Money, Basic and Advanced investing for Christians”.

Karen Jones
Agency Director
Karen is the Agency Director for The Master’s Choice and supports all areas of the agency’s operations. In addition to being a licensed Life and Health Agent, she holds two Bachelor’s degrees and a Master’s degree (MSN) in Nursing.
Karen enjoys spending time with her children and husband, David. She enjoys hiking, kayaking, and gardening. One of Karen and David’s favorite pastimes, away from work, is saltwater fishing.
Emily Tomlinson
Director of Medicare Services
Emily is our Director of Medicare She is a Licensed Life and Health Insurance Agent with a stong backgroud in healthcare. Emily’s experience as a nurse gives her a foundation of medical knowledge which helps her address the health insurance needs of our Medicare clients.
When she is not working with The Master’s Choice or at her part-time nursing job, Emily enjoys spending time with her family, her two dogs, gardening and hiking.
Allen Vaughn
Director of Health Insurance Services
Allen is our Director of Health Insurance Services. He is a licensed Life and Health Agent as well as a Licensed Property Casualty Insurance Agent. Allen has 10 years of experience in customer and financial services and previously worked for five years as Financial Services Specialist with Truist Bank. He is committed to exceeding expectations by understanding clients and their needs on a personal level. His experience in financial services, combined with a passion for helping others, helps him provide tailored care for unique needs.
Outside of work Allen loves to read and travel. He also enjoys spending time with his friends, family, and his dog.
Eric Baker
Life and Health Sales Manager
Eric Baker is our Life and Health Sales Manager. He is a licensed Life and Health Insurance Agent with over 25 years of experience in customer service. He is committed to exceeding expectations by understanding clients and their needs on a personal level. With his background in financial services and the banking industry, combined with his insurance training, Eric is uniquely qualified to find the right solution for the benefits and risk management challenges of small / medium-sized businesses. His passion for helping others drives him to provide customer satisfaction and tailored care for the unique needs of our clients.
Outside of work Eric services as a Senior Pastor at a local church. He loves to teach and serve others. In addition to his ministry, he also enjoys spending time with his wife and family.
Brayden Adams
Executive Account Manager
Brayden serves as our retirement planning Executive Account Manager. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Columbia International University where he played baseball. Braden applies his love for learning, problem solving and helping others every day as he works. His strong faith, organizational skills, and work ethic make him a valued member of the team
Outside of work, Brayden loves spending time with his soon to be wife, Marisa. They enjoy running and walking together, exercising, watching movies, and cooking. Brayden has a strong passion for the game of baseball and sports related ministry. One of Brayden’s favorite passages of scripture is Matthew 6:33 which says, “seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.”
Mario Rosales
Customer Service Specialist
Mario is our Customer Service Specialist. He is our agency’s first point of contact and efficiently helps identify how we can best assist our valued clients when they call our office. One of our agency’s goals is to provide exceptional customer care. Mario has many years of experience and training in the customer service industry. He is able to quickly identify the needs of our clients to make sure they are routed to the appropriate staff member.
Mario’s strong background in customer service and his friendly disposition make him a great asset to our team. When he is not at work, Mario enjoys spending time with his family, playing baseball and going to the gym.
Gary Brunson
Administrative Assistant
Gary is the retirement planning Administrative Assistant. He brings 50 years of organizational and administrative skills to our team. He is an Army Veteran with service both in the United States and all over the world.
In addition to his extensive professional experience, Gary is committed to superior customer service. He is detail-oriented and always makes sure our client’s needs are met.
Away from the office, Gary enjoys spending time with his family. He loves traveling with his wife and spending time with his grandchildren- attending his granddaughter’s gymnastics activities and his grandson’s soccer, football and track events.
Matthew Tomlinson
Matthew is an intern at The Master’s Choice. He is a college junior and is a licensed Accident and Health Insurance Agent. He provides administrative and organizational assistance in the office. Matthew also brings enthusiasm and a fresh perspective to our team.
